Changed the oil (long overdue) and discovered there's a coolant leak somewhere above the bell housing on the oil filter side, as it's dripping off the bell housing flange (HBV up there?)

Oh and froze my nuts off as it was -6C this morning!
Could be. Could be a leak in the v also. Any coolant leak seems to drip down there one way or another. Is it loosing coolant? Was the residue fresh?

I did have to top up the coolant a month or two ago - there was a fresh drip waiting, so to speak, but it must be oozing very slowly from wherever it's coming as it doesn't leave any marks on the drive.

Been meaning to do the other cam cover gasket for ages, so I guess I need to get everything off anyway - should give me a good look at where it's coming from, I hope.

New seal on plenum cover , took off scuttle to gain better access to the diss pack "no good" took out wiper motor and arms for better access "no good" ...inside every ten minutes to thaw out , removed wiring harness over passenger side plugs to gain access to plugs...one hour later the plug was removed . I can see why vx dont bother changing this one as the harness looks totally untouched and the plug was a pig to free and remove  ::)
Still no wiser how to remove the diss pack even after reading the how to  :(

Yep - actually I have all the parts to do the 'stat change (bought a while back from AndyC), and the oil cooler cover plate should just be a case of re-sealing it if it's leaking, right? (With the 'other' goo, rather than camcover goo)

checked water..oil...windscreen washer levels....tyre pressures  and cleaned in side of the windows.also drilled 4 holes in the after market carpets that were in there and secured them with the vauxhall carpet buttons to stop the flaming things sliding up under the dash...now that was a good job done.. :y :)

Worth having a set of new bolts and washers for the coolant bridge to hand. :y

that would be grey goo for oil cooler cover plate.

(Black goo for cam covers)
