Did mine today. The original system was toast. It fell off in 3 bits. One of the centre boxes sounded like it was a bean tin full of ball bearings. A hole big enough to put a hammer handle in to. Borrowed a mates ramp and I even managed to get the cat to centre sections bolts out without snapping any!!! I did put a wee bit of heat into them though  :-[ :-[.Then I very cheekly fitted a second hand system I had lying around. Considering it went on in one piece and had been fitted to another car it fitted spot on!!!! So she's all nice and quiet again................. did sound nice with the blowing exhaust though  :y :y

Will check that too,cheers. :y
If you need another pair of eyes/a hand, give me a shout ;)

Will do Paul.Thanks. :y

Im suspecting the alternator.Twiglet had very similar problems with the car a couple of years ago* and it turned out to be the alternator.I think the alternator has about 5 weeks warranty left, which could be handy,as they are pretty expensive I believe.
Have unplugged the bootlight switch,so will see if that helps.I noticed just now that the dash lights stay lit (dimly) when I take the key out, dont know if that points to anything ?

Update. Replaced earth strap.Charged battery, car started and ran fine.Checked alternator output - 13 volts.Hopefully all sorted now. :)

Ive been trying to find some info on this Sam.The 2.5/3.0 isnt the same as the 2.6/3.2 pump, but I have a vague recollection that they could be swapped if the pipes were also swapped with the pump.
Im by no means certain though,so would need confirmation from someone who actaully knows what they are talking about. :y ;D

took front mudflaps off shed 4,got tired of hearing them scrap round every corner.
while the wheels was off quick nose round and hay presto wishbones are kaput vertical bushes, not suprised as this shed was allegedlly well looked after by the previous owner. but hay ho its all fun... :)

Drove it gently to Oxford and back.

Topped the Bullet up with oil, not sure if its leaking it or burning it.

Replaced the rattly steering idler, polished the headlight lenses, re-blacked the front bumper and grille plastics and removed the crappy cone filter.
Much quieter now and have more low down power again.  :y
