Thanks guys and girls, I love my car, and I fall even more in love with it every day I see it...  ::)

I will be picking up a full Steinmetz Exhaust system tomorrow and its going on probably this weekend.  I might also get the Steinmets suspension, Springs and Shocks if all goes well and then its time for new tires...  and possibly an alignment.

let us know if the exhaust has any performance benefits on here and catera forum.  :y  also do you just have spacers on the back? and does it look out of line wit the front? looks good in pics

The exhast is going to be more or less just more noise and I doubt there will be much difference, maybe it will pick up a horse or two but I guess I will keep ya updated on it.

As to the spacers I think they look bad ass.. the difference is not large enough to notice, the back is only 50mm wider then the front but because of the shape of the fenders it looks just normal....

In fact it looks a little like a Porsche as you may have noticed that they are much wider in the rear then they are in the front.
When you drive behind the car all you see is the rear tires lining up with the fenders and if you were to look down the side the back tire is just a tad bit farther out then the front  I will try to take some more pictures.  
I think it looks amazing with the back being wider but you will have to decide for yourself.  More pictures will follow.

Well now that the winter is near I decided to go back to the OEM 17" Wheels with the new tires that I put on a while back...

The tires are 245 45 17 Kumho Ecsta ASX I believe... but I can check if you want...
Anyways the other wheel and tire package was a mere 44lbs/pc... and these suckers are almost 55lbs... so quite a weight difference and you can tell that by the way the car drives...

here are some pictures of the car that i jsut took... its about to start snowing out and thats why it was wet... ohhh and my car is super dirty...

Yep the spacers are on there... I cant notice any difference in ride or cornering... the car feels the same but it looks so much better with the wide rear end.  It reminds me of Porsches...  These 17s have all season new tires on em thats why i am using them on the car right now.  The astra wheels will get new 245 40 18 Tires next spring and they will be back on the car soon after...

I will post some pictures of them..

I too have added these spacers to my Catera and they really fill out the wheel wells. Now, it could be my imagination but I think it turns in quicker. Like the extra 50mm track width levers the front end around easier than before. As I said, I could be dreaming but it sure feels that way.

It makes sense because if you imagine standing up... how easy would it be for someone to tip you... now try the same thing but this time spread your legs a little farther apart and try the same thing again... much harder right....?

So in a way it makes since that the wider rear will interfere with the steering characteristics of the car... for example stiffer sway bars can add over or under-steer and the same thing goes for track dimensions...

BTW I guess if the spacers provide a bit more overseer or reduce the under-steer ( i am not sure what our cars do..)  that would explain why its easier to turn...
