Hi Guys, I a new to this forum, but would appreciate any help you can give in isolating the problem I am currently etting.  Had the car a couple of years now, great w/horse, 170k plus on the clock, suddenly it just doent want to satrt first time, the engine magment light flashes, then suddenly it goes OK...the local garage think its something to do with the ecu not holding/or recogising the key code? was recommended to switch to my second key, but soemtimes its worse. i.e. 4/5 times to strat, other times starts first time????

First thing mate welcome to the forum :y
Have a look at this link, it will tell you how to do a paperclip test... If your Engine Management Light (EML) is on it has a fault that needs to be read.
Once you have the codes come back and post them in the General Help Section

Hi Guys, details of the car are:
1996 Omega Tourer ( estate) 2.5 V6 Petrol
when you do the paper clip etst, where does it show the codes?
as my display is slightly useless...

eml light does not stay on, it only flashes whilst I am turning the ignition key?...
