Worth checking the voltages at the connector as suggested - could still be a number of things, such as wrong brake switch fitted, cable snapped, actuator failed etc...

Best place for an actuator is a scappy or fleabay.

Has the strip snapped or has it been dropped back into the actuator?  It is always possible the previous owner was a bit careless....

If the latter then I would take the actuator off and try tipping the actuator upside down to see if it is still in there.  If so  then fish it out with something.  failing that disassemble the actuator and have a fish about that way.

For what its worth, cruise is definitely worth having.  I'm doing over 500 miles this weekend, and would be lost without it

The yellow bit is part of actuator, and non replaceably.  Never known one to snap (the actuator isn't that powerful).  A replacement actuator is not hugely expensive 2nd hand...

May be worth bidding low on some ebay ones - you may win one cheap, and it will make a good spare. All Omega cruise actuators are the same, its the throttle cables that vary.
