If I had not bent the pipes it would have been a rounded of nut and then a whole world of shit so lesser of two evils me thinks!!!! but time will tell.
I suspect you may develop a leak at the troublesome nuts now anyway :(

Well one came off easy and the other did not budge so hopefully not but time will tell :-/
