The key thing is what your car is worth. For example mine is a 186,000 mile ex-rozzer MV6 estate. I only bought it for £175. Ok it had a new engine at 100k, and since then JamesV6CDX has done cam cover gaskets, aux belt, water pump, full service, etc etc etc. HOWEVER, I ordered the exhaust before James had done anything, as a cheap and quick solution. Cost me £75 from Germany and my local 'grunt' fitted it for £20.

If your car is only a runner for 6mths then it makes sense. If its long term then get it done properly.

I am also less bothered as mine is likely to bea donor car for my old Opel Rekord Coupe, so exhausts will be chopped around I suspect. We'll see!  :D :y
