Thanks for the 'how to' on the auto gearbox which is certainly useful...

But my question really was: how often do I need to do this? and/or what problem symptoms suggest that it ought to be done?

To be honest, if you come across any symptons on a 2.5TD autobox, its probably too late....

In that case I am thankful that I don't have any symptoms in this area BUT the question still stands.......

Is it necessary to routinely change the gearbox oil & filter? And if so how often?
Once a year? or every 20,000m or what????

Cheers

Haynes say 70k for cars covering high mileage, otherwise unspecified.

I think every 50-60k is a wise precaution, esp on the TD
