when i was doing this job i change only cam cower gasket and didn't change plenum o rings and that red inlet sealing. where is vacum part on inlet (how it looks) it's a big job to put this all apart cause i don't have much time only weekend. what can go wrong if this is not corrected right now. can i put some sealing (from tube) anywhere to stop leak if i found where it is.
Is my only option to put it to part again and reseal it or there is easier way to find where is problem?

The consumption display is not based on a vacuum reading but a signal from the ECU based on how much fuel it's injecting. Unless the idle is rough or unstable I would say the air leak theory is a red herring.

Not sure what else to suggest though. :-/

Is the speedometer working properly?

speedo working great.
It's something like this: ....driving average is 16.6, stop on red light and it starts go up 16,7 16,8 16,9 up to 20 and higher if red light stays on for long.....
This evening i was starting my car and it started funny. it took a long time for ignition ((2-3 sec) not instant like any other time) like there was not enough fuel in system. and when started it was fighting to stay so I turned it off and start it again and this time all OK. funny, so i drove home and consumption was not so terrible jumpy, just a little. maybe it will go sort it out all by it self. this is frustrating. just problems with my mega and it's hard for me to get a used parts cause much things don't fit from earlier age omega.

It's not just because you've recently reset the average, is it?

If the distance covered since reset is small, the fuel consumed when stopped makes a big impact, so it will cause the average to count down (or up, in l/100km).

It might be worth checking for codes, just in case you've got a crank sensor on its' way out. That could cause the fuel readings to go a bit haywire, and a misfire, if the signal is bad. :-/

Bare in mind chaps that English is not his first language......
I'm sorry but he/she is posting on an english board. We have lots of members from diverse places and we are happy too help them all. While it may be politically incorrect to comment on it - it was damn hard to get the meaning out of the post to get a sensible reply.

I stand by the first two posts on this one.

Jim

I'd be inclined to offer a little patience, we have the luxury of having the ability to have English as the "common language".

I bet his German isn't much cop, but then I bet neither is any of ours.

I also would hazard a guess that there aren't many Croatian Omega sites.

I personally think that his English (whilst admittedly in need of some work) is better than most of our attempts at a 2nd language, especially written.

He's been pretty brave really and we should respect that if we can. :y

I hope that my attempt is close to his inital meaning and that someone can help him.
AGREED    :y :y

And what with those numbers that shows on display when both buttons are pressed?
I was thinking a little how my average can go up (when it was ~14.4 when driving) when not driving, because car’s consumption is much less when not driving. It only can go down if it’s reset recently (from ~39.8 down). Something is wrong here.
Can I reseal the sealing’s (inlet and plenum) with black sealing paste to be sure that there is no leak, and that I don’t have to buy new sealing’s.

I believe this shows the firmware version and also how the MID is configured (it's configured differently for each engine variant).

I wouldn't use sealant. Plenum seals are only "O" rigs so should be easy to replace. Just make sure one hasn't popped out of its' groove when putting the plenum on.
