some places do it free if you need to spend a certain amount on other repairs, or a service...?

my local budget does it if you need new brakes or tyres i think

Had mine done there last year. They were true to their word but I had to get shirty to get my money back when it made bu66er all difference. Watch them like a hawk. They didn't bother to measure the vent temperatures on mine and then tried to charge me anyway.

Cheers, am just costing up 2 or 3 jobs that need doing trying to decide whether to have all the work done on the car  or sell it as is.

I know it needs a re-gas.

The back box is stuffed but sounds the biz which is why I never changed it.

The car has had new (Quality) disks and pads on the front but there is a little squeek on some occasions (Didnt have hany coperslip at the time - totally forgot to get some) so they just need stripping and checking.

Also there is a creek coming from the front N/S (at least thats where I think it is)  Dont hear it every time I go out but need to know what it is and sort it.

Other than that, empty the car and claen it ready to take some piccies.

Should be able to get it vacuumed, leak tested & regassed (make sure they put the lubricant in or a/c compressor will fail) for £45 - £50.

Didn't older cars use a different kind of gas? A mate of mine had a car regased and they charged him over £80 as they needed to drain it and put the new stuff in, or was that just BS from kwik fit?

In the past I have been charged up to £90 (for a Senator) to be regassed.  I would NEVER use Kwik Fit; more like Kwik cock up!  Past experience; wrong exhaust fitted to my son's car; damaged alloys when replacing tyres; quoted 50% more on the fitting of new brakes; stripped the threads on a bolt when attaching new exhaust, etc, etc over the space of a five year period.  Never used them since!

East Northants - use a mobile specialist.  Had the estate done last summer - £45.

Yes, I used a mobile specialist for my Senator and Omega a good few years ago; excellent service at the time.
