Any possibility it could be the crank sensor - doesn't the 6 pot need the engine running to log a fault?

When you changed the timingbelt, was all the sprockets aligned with their marks? Sounds like the timing is incorrect.

I did the same once, just a few teeth wrong, and it would't start.
