Does anyone know the part numbers for the front shocks and the self-levelling rear shocks for a facelift MV6?

My problem is that my car is an Elite, but with MV6 springs all round. I'm going to change all 4 shocks for the self-levelling MV6 shocks from Vx.

Also any advice if my local Vx stealer doesn't give me good TC prices?

From what I gather from this thread, and Tunnie's, is that the fronts sould be roughly 46+VAT and the rears around 45+VAT. So £220 should cover the full set, but I know that when I asked about a set of springs Evans Halshaw in Bedford quoted nearly £600, and I did tell them I had a TC, but I think they just ignored this.

 :o :o :o :o

Just for springs??

I bought KYB ones from a local motor factor, which are same as OEM i belive.

£44 each  :D

My local stealer knows me now, so can almost always get TC  :)

I should be doing my rear shocks this weekend if thats any use?

Dealers want silly money for springs:  I laughed at them a couple of years ago and they agreed their price was stupid.  KYB are the way to go

So is KYB the way to go for shocks too, or are Vx ones the best?

That would be a lot of use!

You're not too far from me in the Brackley area aren't you? Would you ask your dealer what the part numbers and prices are please?

MV6 for a self-levelling version.

Are they an easy job to change yourself, or should I get them done at WIM seeing as I'll have to get the car set up again anyway?
Unlikely a dealer will be able to tell you the part without extensive research.  There are lots and lots of shocks available, and they'll go either by VIN or by ident number of fitted shock, none any good to you.

Looking at EPC there is only one self levelling shock listed nowadays 72119084 which will be the same as you've got fitted on your elite already.

Only thing I can find is this.
SHOCK ABSORBER, ASSY., WITH MOUNTING PARTS (IDENT WM) (USED WITH LOWERED SPORTS CHASSIS) (FOR ARMOURED BODY) (FOR POLICE VEHICLE) (NOT USED WITH LOWERED SPORTS CHASSIS)    72119086
So its used with the lowered sports chassis and its not used with the lowered sports chassis.

So is there a difference between Elite and MV6 shocks?

I'm confused:

There must be at least 4 different types, but I can't work out which is which:

Fronts
Rear Self levelling
Rear non-self levelling
Rear Sports chassis (MV6)

Any chance of a part number for each of the above?

Levelling       72119084
Non levelling 90542942
MV6             72119086 if you assume they are used with the sports chassis.
Fronts I'm still working on.

I don't know how much this will help but here's a list of Cadillac Catera suspension parts. The part numbers are mostly North American with a few British and European suppliers mixed in. Maybe your repair shop can cross reference them. I also have bushes, springs, etc. I can post the whole thing if you like. Remember, if it fits the Catera, it will fit the Omega. FYI: The has self leveling rear air shocks.
