Lousy throttle response and pulling left
« on: 05 June 2008, 11:16:09 »

hi all,

what can lead to a lousy throttle response at low rpm (to about 3000), and the car is shaking a little at idle (idle is at 500).
when cold than this is worse and sometimes i got misfire when i throttle up from idle few times in a row.

And another problem that my car is constantly pulling to the left. Geometry is don 5 times and all is in green but when i put my steering wheel in center the car goes in left, if i want to go straight i need to hold it to the right what is a pain in the ass.
and i think that my front left brake is braking little before right so i got "front left nose down feeling" when braking.
And i got a clicking noise in the front (wheels) when i pass over a bump

all help is needed because the car is driving me mud. :)

thx

If the car is only slightly pulling the left, you may just have to live with it... I had two Omegas and both were slightly pulling to the left, even the super professional full-geometry done by Tony from WIM) only reduced the pull but did not cure it completely.

Having said that, make sure you get the full-geometry done (see www.wheels-inmotion.co.uk for full explanation), and if the front tyres are not directional then try swapping them around (i.e. right-to-left and vice versa).

It could be that the left brake is binding, perhaps needs taking to pieces and cleaning the crap off the pistons....
The camber on the road sometimes make your car go to the left or right could this be it?
If you have had you Cambers already done 5 times I would have thought they would be right, depending on who has done it I suppose. Are you sure they haven't just done the tracking?

As for the missing have you tried the paperclip test?

True, I use to test mine while driving diagonally across an empty car park (e.g. at the back of a motorway services car park)....

cambers are in green to that what list shows,
i will try the paper clip but it feels like there is not enough power on low rpm, guy sad that the mixture is to lean (not enough petrol).

can anyone post a link for paperclip test instruction that i dont hawe to search the forum

Has the rear tracking been checked?

Elite now gone.  Bought an X-Type 4x4.  If there had been an Omega 4x4 I would have bought that instead.  We really liked the Omega, but I wanted 4x4.

I thought I had problems with the old pulling to the left all the time, until I drove to the french alps the other month. As soon as we set down off the ferry in France the car pulled to the right all the time.

When we got back to the Uk.. yeh you guessed it!
