Broken bonnet catch cable
« on: 18 January 2009, 17:17:36 »

The cable broke last week, at first I was able to use a pair of pliers to open the bonnet , but now the cable is not opening the bonnet at all.

Any suggestions to open the bonnet?

Can I get at the mechanism if I break the plastic centre grill?

Try getting someone to push down on the front edge of the bonnet while you pull the cable with you pliers.

what kind of grille do you have? just the bog std V one? or irmy one? 2 different proceedures, one involves breaking the grille but leaving it usable, and the other doesnt break anything.

Just a word of thanks mate, following your spot on directions I was able to unhook the bonnet and apart from a few scratches on my hand no one would ever know!

Your a diamond .
