Fitting steinmetz bumper grilles
« on: 24 February 2009, 20:19:55 »

Just got a pair of these from 2 well known breakers on this site  :y

Has anyone fitted a set before? I thought they were a straigt swap, but it looks like I have to remove the upper lugs  nearest the fogs, and the hole in the lower lug nearest the fog does not line up with the hole on the steinmetz griles.

I dont want to butcher the bumper if not needed,

Cheers

Steve

Hi Steve, I removed them and from what I saw they looked standard but I must admit I didn't pay too much attention when I was removing them.

Finally got these to fit without cutting the tabs off the bumper, but had to drill a second hole in the bottom tab, no big deal.

Looked a bit silly with my meshed grille, so took that off and put the standard irmscher grille back on, looks excellent.

 ;)

its too dark for a picture as there isnt much light in the garage, and the car is covered, but Here is a pic of the bumper grille fitted.

all the fuzzy light marks are caused by the flash on the phone camera.
