... is quite frankly pants. It took me 15 minutes yesterday to move the car from in front of the house, the traction control was killing the power on the engine to the point that it nearly stalled and the 'ice' mode on the gearbox didn't help much.

In the end, to get it moved I had to rev the arse off it with the traction turned off with the rear wheels spinning like a chav on Tescos car park.

Was quite annoying yet satisfying to have the speedo up to 160 at a walking pace!

Its ok till you hit a dry patch and your gearbox end up in your front room ;D :y

just to piss on your bombfire... laws of physics prevent this because the tyres gripping and the energy required for the car to accelerate at such rate that the gearbox could potentially manage to push the engine off the mounts and the rear axle tear off the chassis is just not enough!  there isnt enough energy opposing the forward motion of the gearbox and wheels in the body ;) -try spinning your wheels of a wet field onto a dry road- all you get is a big screach and the revs drop

On the other hand... If one wheel was on dry ground, and the other on ice, That would mean that if the speedo was showing 160 mph, one wheel is doing 0mph, and the other is doing 320mph!  :o 320mph is a bit on the high side for tyres! Think of the centrifugal force on the rubber!  ;D

This seriously begs the question:  Why oh why have i never seen a youtube video of a tall-geared US car with one wheel on the ground and one jacked up, put in top gear and the tits revved off it revealing what indeed happens to a 150mph rated tyre doing 300+!!

Hmmm - maybe just cos I've never searched for it....

Don't forget the safety goggle though!  ;D

Honestly, IMHO the TC system is utterly useless. It has caused me to tank slap my Elite round wet roundabouts & nearly fill my undergarments on more than one occasion! You can only turn that steering wheel so fast without breaking the steering pump!

As for the snow. I'm still waiting. I did drive to my girlfriends the other night & the outside temp display was flashing & saying 0.0 c. I turned off the TC & was expecting an extertaining drive but got absolutely nothing!  :(

Yep! I discovered this too the other day, pulled into pub carpark to pick mate up then sat for about 5 minutes just spinning the wheels trying to "rock" the car back and forth to eventuall get over the ice! Anyway werent getting anywhere so we jst got out and shoved it, worked a treat!

I did find that changing the rear tyres for new ones really does help with grip. I didn't realise that they were that low. (showing canvas) :-[
