I know you say you've been careful, but check the wiring again.

Seen a simular problem on another car, changed CS and two days later the problem re-appeared. Checked the wiring and the wire had melted. Re-soldered wire, re-routed wire, ran fine afterwards.

I know it's mentioned already above, but worth mentioning again.

OK, as said by PM, get it on live data. Also might be worth clearing the fault codes and seeing what comes back, and also resettign the BLM for idle and lamdas.

Get a 16pin obdii style plug temporarily wired up, doesn't need to be permement.   Any obdii plug will do, be it from vx, vag, rover, whatever

there are 10-16 pin adaptors on ebay, not sure if they would work for this though  :-/

I like the sound of the adaptor if there is one that works! Im not the most gifted with electricals (colour blind) what would i have to do to wire up a new plug?

That it?: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/10pin-to-obd-2-Adaptor-Scan-Cable-for-Vauxhall-10-Pin_W0QQitemZ290328600381QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Diagnostic_Tools_Equipment?hash=item4398eedf3d&_trksid=p3911.c0.m14&_trkparms=65%3A12%7C66%3A2%7C39%3A1%7C72%3A1683%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A50

Also i only noticed it yesterday, if i leave the key turned in the car ready to start while doing something (i was writing a bday card in a car park) the car will not idle! Say if the keys left for 2-3mins

yup, few similar on there, but thats the one that caught my eye  :y

I expect that would do what you need it to (with a code reader of course)

i know this might not have any effect but when was the last time you cleaned out your breather hoses and banyon?

if they are blocked it can contribute heavily to your problem. ( i use a kebab sequer to push through my small breather to get as much of the shite out as possible and the best thing to clean out the banyon is a 1.6mm drill bit.)

good luck in finding your fault.

We talking about the breather box underneath the intake system?

I did give the breather box a checking over and its clear. Now not getting any fault codes flashing out at all but still getting problems. If its left there to idle, the idle gradually starts to get crazy thats when you know trying to drive its going to be just as bad. The worst of it is now just pulling away, under load then will clear as you reach the top end of the rev range. Hoping to get some live data from it shortly see whats going on.
