Id start be removing and cleaning the idle control valve

then check / clean breathers, check air filter etc

dis pack can be sort of tested with a spark guage, about £40 new, leads £20 upwards for pattern

hi there
can you expand on the dis pack test? what is a spark gauge?
i have a similar problem in that my miggy ran rough(sounded like it was running on 3 cyls) then didn't run at all. i've removed a spark plug after leaving it for a week, then trying to start it. it smelled of petrol so i assume its getting fuel through, but  it won't fire up. i've changed the cam sensor as code 94 was showing but that didn't help.
by the way i hope this hijacking of a thread isn't too rude. apologies if it is. :question

I saw The Master use one of these at York and so bought one myself as they are a brilliant bit of kit :y
It plugs into the lead where the spark plug would be, on the bottom is a wire that you clip onto earth, turn over the car and measure how far the spark jumps :y this will show if you dispack or leads have had it :y you coujld then check your leade with a multimeter to rule out that  :y :y
