Thanks to all for your tips and advice.  One again this forum is invaluable.

Tackled the job this morning and it took me about three hours start to finish.  It really is as fiddly as you all said it would be but I have a great sense of achievement after completing it.  :)

Too early to tell if my coolant leak has been fixed but I will keep an eye on the levels for the next week.

Now, I am off in to town for a box of plasters..... :D
