Couple of questions from a newbie
« on: 16 December 2009, 15:07:57 »

Couple of questions.

Anyone know of a user manual for the "My Naff Code Reader" diagnostic tool, and normal readings/settings for my 1999 2lt CD auto. It seems to work ok and shows no fault codes. Would be nice to know what the other reading mean, some are self explanatory but not all.

The drivers door strap just flops about and does not attempt to keep the door open.Is this controlled by the plastic bush in some way.

The check strap will have ripped itself from the leadin edge of the door. Have a read here .......  :y http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1152902108

No nasty noises and plates look to be ok. From what I can see from pics the bush looks as if it it applies pressure to the arm and holds it in contact with the plates, is this correct. Dont want to rip the door apart unless absolutely necessary.

Not really! The plastic bush is just to 'soften' the hinge pin on the A post. If the stay is 'flopping about' it'll be because the door (picture 3) is ripped and ithe strap isn't fastened to anything ......... Obviously I can only guess cos I'm here & you're there!  :y

Thanks, it can wait till better weather next year in that case.
From what you are saying there is some sort of mechanism that fits on the end of the strap inside the door, any pics of this anywhere that anyone knows of.

Yes! In my case it was lying in the bottom of the door.  :'(
