Migs need to have all 4 wheels correctly aligned, doing just the front is scrimping and may well be money watsed if the rears are out because you will have to pay again to have all 4 done. £30 is about the average for a 4 wheel alignment at National Tyres with whom I have never had any problems.
Tyre type - you get what you pay for and in my experience the cheapos are noisy and do not hug the road as well as the originals. I bite the bullet and use Michellin Pilot Primacy's all round. Low noise, comfortable ride, high grip and long life. Others say Continental's are the next best thing.
Whatever you opt for at least use the asymetric tread pattern type.
If it was the rears that are wearing abnormally I cannot understand why having the fronts done will alter that. Do all 4 m8, and feel the difference it makes.
