a quick update ,took pipes off heater matrix and put 1/2 litre of bleach down it's throut flushed it though both pipes back/forth connected up ................yes i have a heater,so far so good took pipes off rad and flushed though, not quite convinced with rad flow after but put it all back together and took her for a spin temp staid ok for 6 miles up/down hills even stoped at lights for 10 minutes road works temp went to 92 deg, drove off temp droped to 85 deg, then went down hill engine holding back temp went to 90 deg then a 30mph pull up hill 95deg came to stop 100 deg reversed parked up turned off engine then turned ignition on and temp was close to max then it dawned on me no fan on rad crossed the wires fan on so i am thinking temp sender u/s and rad switch u/s do you agree :o

Not sure that bleach is very effective at breaking down oil deposits  :-/ 'traffic film remover' from machine mart seems to be the preferred flushing agent.

Can't remember if the fan control stat is in the top half or bottom half of the radiator. If it is in the bottom half I would suspect that more of the oil has found its way into the radiator and bunged it up again.

I have seen rad. switches become ineffective due to a layer of oil sludge before so a clean is worth a try IMHO.
