Exhaust system diagrams...
« on: 12 February 2010, 08:09:56 »

Need a complete exhaust system for my 96 GLS 2.0 16v Estate, Kwik fit quoted £450 including cat  :o  but can buy the sections and get my local garage to fit, but a bit confused about which are the right sections, Haynes give no diagrams at all so will have to get out and get under to check, but would appreciate an exploded style diagram if i can find one.  Found these bits on fleabay, and another poster recc'd a supplier from Germany for Opel but need to identify the right parts...

1/ Are you sure you need a new cat section?  They don't often fail.

2/ It makes my smile that that used exhaust is in 'excellent condition'  given that most rot comes from inside.
I would spend a little bit more on a new eternal system. Should work out at 100 quid ish (does yours have one or two centre sections?)

whole system is corroded, a previous owner must have parked on grass for some time, brake discs were corroded had them done. cat pipe is slightly leaking - may as well change it i don't want it to fail mot on emissions. :(

will "get under" and work out exactly what i've got, thanks for the tip i should really get a new system.
