So, if I take it steady-ish and sit at around 70-80mph on motorways and dual carriageways, then it could happily do around 400 miles to a tank ?

Hi Mate

Gloucestershire here also :y

My 2.0 Auto did 500 miles to a tank.

I once had 600 miles to a tank from a 2.5 V6.

Not many believe me, maybe the gauges were wrong, but that's what the dials said!!

I just hope it does 400. I honestly thought a 2.0 would happily cruise motorways and with a 70 litre fuel tank, I also thought it'd do 450-500 miles each time.
Nice car, but its a pain in the arse at times.

Just been from Lincs down to Surrey and back...pretty much all motorway and averaged 38mpg in my 3.0 v6...so thats about 530 mileson a tank...but thats exceedingly good and would normally expect 30-34mpg on a similar trip but thats still 420 miles on a tank :y

Obviously the 3.0 v6 is not as fuel efficient on short trips lol

I get 27 around town, but it drops on the motorway!  That doesn't seem right!

Have no error codes, and everything is serviced, breathers clean etc.

Any ideas?  Wondering about the MAF sensor as when those are goosed, MPG suffers.

Cheers,
James

(Oh, I am a grandad........)                            :(

Drove my 2.6 auto from Cardiff to Tyneside & back the other weekend - 332.8 miles each way, started from full at each journey, just over 1/4 left in the tank at each end (about 130 miles on the MID) - not hanging about either  :y

I've only owned the car 2 weeks and I think it might be time to sell it.
My Honda would do 38MPG and that was a 2.0.
When I bought it I thought it would be a good car. I think I need a diesel Omega !
