I just contacted Direct line.

The third party (lady that hit me) has admitted liability in full.

So this goes down as a "non fault claim".

The Omega is going into the VX dealer for new bumper next week  

I'm aching like mad... but I think that's more to do with torquing up 16 V6 head bolts

does a non fault claim mean you dont lose your own no claims then?

But the annoying bit is you still have to declare your accident to your insurance componies when you ring around for quotes

does that mean it still affects your price?

My insurance went up by 100 quid when I mentioned 2 non fault claims. One didn't even involve my insurer as it was a claim on 3rd party liability insurance when a contractor dropped a ladder on my bonnet.  

They claimed 2 "incidents", regardless of fault, indicates I'm "at risk". rather stupid thing was the ladder incident was because I parked under a CCTV installation which a muppet came to service as I was parked - hence the ladder. I asked them if they would prefer me to park well away from such things in future to prevent myself being "at risk" but didn't get an answer.

Insurance companies are almost at the top of my "batsrad scale". Just under Gordon himself.
