Hi, I have recently bought a 1999 omega elite 3.0. It didn't come with a head unit, but a bose amp and speaker system were still installed. After posting on this forum, i found the best option was a ccrt700, as this was the original model from the car. I have managed to find one on ebay, and i recieved it this morning. I went straight out to the car and fitted it, entered the security code and it scanned for stations. I thought all was well until i actually turned the volume up and realized i had no sound. The volume doesn't actually display when i move the multifunction wheel or press the buttons on the steering wheel. Should it? I took the stereo back out and noticed that somebody has obviously been hacking at the wires in the past (Probably to try and fit another head unit), although many wires have been rejoined the way they should be (from the looks of things), there are two wires that are not connected at all, a thin red & white wire (there is also a thicker one, but that is connected), and a brown & blue wire that is also not connected. Without these joined, the stereo powers up fine, and works on the display and the steering wheel controls work (other than the volume problem described earlier). I have tried re-joining these wires, but it has made no difference, I still have no sound... :-( Is there supposed to be a light on the bose amp if its working, and does it control all of the speakers in the car?

I had the same head in my '99 CDX and there was no volume level indication on the display, just louder music

I've got a similar sorta problem to yours. After finally getting the radio to display on the main screen, it suddenly goes back to the date after about half an hour or so, only way I've found is to leave it in the boot over night then put it back in, then repeat. I'm guessing a loose wire somewhere, anyone?

Interesting....I assume the Bose amp is still present in the boot (its in the plastic tray mounted on the under side of the parcel shelf)

have you checked the fuse for the bose ?? :-?

Hi Thanks, Where is the fuse for the Base amp? How do you get to the amp?

in your fuse box matey ! if you look on lid theres a picture of a speaker thats the fuse for the bose ! to get to amp you have to remove rear shelf and there are 6 screws under it !

Although you can see if the amp is present by looking through the holes in the plastic bose amp shelf.

I've checked the fuse and it its fine. Is there supposed to be any lights on the amp when it is running? Does anyone know what the wires that have been cut are for? I think the blue/brown wire is a speaker wire and the thin red/white cable might be a live of some sort. I can get the pin numbers that they are connected to if anyone has a wiring diagram.
