Chipping tractor help

Hi all my ecu has arrived today so want to fit my chip as I broke the last ecu.how did you all remove your old chips as that's how I broke my ecu?thought I'd ask! 8-)

I followed this with help from other forum members.
Only problem I had was my chip needed to be socketed onto the board to enable the new chip to be installed. In other words if your chip is soldered in then it needs someone who can fit you a socket so you can change chips easily.
I had a forum member do mine, very nice man indeed :y
Have you got your replacement chip yet?

Yes got the new chip and socket but removal of old chip as my problem as that's what damaged my ecu last time.can anyone on here help??

I take it that the chip is soldered in?

To be honest, if you're not used to, and equipped for, reworking electronics it's probably best that you entrust the job to someone who is. I would suggest taking it to a decent local TV repair place, if you can still find one, and ask him to desolder the IC and fit a socket.
