Evening all,

We have about 9 days off, mid January, and are looking to get away for a week somewhere. Somewhere hot would be great. Not looking to spend big money, as lots of bills coming up for car / house / Christmas.

Not looking for a big club scene, Just somewhere to chill out in the day, and maybe a few drinks in the evenings.

Someone suggested Canaries? Sounds reasonable, would have to find a decent airline though, no way am I sitting on a ryanair flight for that long 

Any ideas most welcome

Tenerife is great look at Los Christanos its nice and quiet but close enough if you want a night out its a short walk up the road to playas americas

As North Africa is probably currently out, Canaries seems best 'short flight' (still 4hrs though) option if you want some heat. Or Eastern Med, although the Greek islands obviously have their problems (shouldn't affect toursist, as long as ATC stay working), and Cyprus might be pricey.

What sort of holiday are you after James? Beach? Culture? Adventure? 

I believe Morrocco is a pretty calm part of North Africa, there are cheap flights to Marrakesh, beaches at Tangiers and Casablanca, mountain climbing and trekking in the Atlas mountains and a fair bit of desert to look at too!! It's very cheap when you're there too!!!

Tunisia is nice and all inclusive places are usually gorgeous, seems to have settled down there too

Was going to say I had a pleasant week sitting by a pool in Florida in February. Budget might be an issue, I suppose?
