The bonnet problem was repaired by my original dent man. Annoyingly I paid £60 to have all the dents removed from the car Thursday. However my original body shop man never have me a receipt as I never went back, so I didn't get one  >:(. It'll go through my insurance most probably I've already rang them this evening, but my broker put me through to the company who the insurance actually goes through, and they had no reccolection of the car, only the van which I sold. So the company who I actually insure the car with gave me the wrong people, just in time for the other company to close. So it'll be a call to them first thing in the morning.

To be honest, I've got a feeling it could well be written off. A friend of mine however when my son told him what had gone on, ironically was with an insurance assessor, and said the roof isn't that much of a problem on the 7, obviously he couldn't see the extent of the damage, but he didn't think it'll be written off. I do however think different. How long do insurance assessors take to come out? Luckily I'm still mobile, no need for a courtesy car.

Ive seen cars written off for a lot less Cem. No rhyme or reason to insurance assessment here. :y

I was thinking the same when I saw Del's pictures, hope I'm wrong though,I can understand the bonnet catch letting go but the safety catch should have held it ???

Plenty of people ( with the requisite skills) make a good living out of doing just that Cem.If you  look further through that site you will see older cars written off for no more than a dent or a few scratches. ;)

I think even I could fix this one easily enough. ;D

Glad you managed to escape without injury, you must be a good driver and have nerves of steel.

And here it ripped the bonnet, how at 50 MPH I'll never know, and it was a genuine 50 MPH!

Aluminium is not very strong...

Odds on that will be written off as it has roof damage as thats a key part of teh car for safety and you dont just knock them out and fill them (or at least you shouldn't!).
