I do agree - the sight of a uniformed woman with a weapon is quite captivating. :D :D :D

Air cadets myself.  I was a cub for many years but on my first night at the scouts in Warrington I was threatened with a knife.  Never went again.

The prospect of flying a plane and shagging girls in RAF uniforms won  ;D

Yes, from age 8 to about 16 I was involved with scouting.

Great times, dont regret any of it, many very happy memories and lots of good experiences.

Also.....Its where I was introduced to Oof's very own Ljay :D :D :D
Left shortly afterwards mind, after a lot of bad feeling over some 'tent sharing' ;)

I signed up in 1955 as a Wolf Cub.......achieved Sixer status.  ;) 1st Penn and Tylers Green Pack. Unfortunately, there was no Scout troop to follow on to.
When my lad joined in 1980, we got involved, which led to another 20 years charity work !!!!!!! ;)

I was a Venture scout briefly! Until I was led astray! ;)

Brownies etc were all too girly for me, never got chance to do The Duke of Edinburgh Award but did do The Basic Expedition Training Award with 13 lads which kind of made up for it! ;D ;D

We're considering starting our eldest in scouts next year.
