Day of tommorrow and wife at work so will find a long stick or use my fishing rod. :)  should be fun!

You could always take the whole parcel shelf out of the car. The motor has just enough sticking out to be able to get hold of to turn it, which will start to lift the blind. It'd probably be enough to get it going again.  :y
