How come I can look up into the sky and see both the sun and the moon perfectly unobscured and yet sometimes the moon is in shadow and thus crescent shaped?

How come we never had any water leaks in our extensive external to house water pipes when it was minus 6 at night and plus 10 in the day. Today we have three! and it was only minus one last night.  ????

Kinda obvious really. You ain't gonna carry on looking once you've found it. Therefore it will always be the last place you look, even if it is the first place too
