Done a bit of work yesterday replacing the stat and bridge seals but i have code : 1 - 7 which is knock signal circuit 2.
EML flickering .
Where is the location of this anyone ? :-\

plug is down near dipstick. Sensor itself behind engine mount. Suspect, though, you've forgotten to plug back in.
-
Plug is connected if im looking at the right one , only one near the dipstick but the connector is free and flopping about ..should it be secured to something ie a post or plate ?

The wire is slightly worn through as it dropped down and was rubbing on the aux belt , think ill be able to get to it if i take the battery off and top hose . Can it be repaired ie cut and spliced together :-\

Can it be repaired ie cut and spliced together :-\
Yes. Try to maintain the coax structure

Will have a go , dont fancy tracing the wire back to replace . Looks like it goes through the timing belt cover .

shouldn't do :-\

Maybe around the back then :-\ im guessing as i cant properly see until i take the battery off and all the pipework :-\
-
Maybe im looking at the wrong wire .
Where would the position be of the actual sensor for signal circuit 2 ...not the connection .
Is it ok to run the car or not while the light stays on ?
-
the ks is by engine mount/oilfilter on left side(passenger side) as a thought you did all connections at rear of engine did'nt you-dont ask why?? someone here has done that before(me being a numbnuts)
-
Sure as can be but will double check the back ones :y
-
just slowly check through everything mate its so easy to rush and skip something(we've all done that) :y its also easy to cross plugs on ks and cam sensor-done that too (crossed air temp and solenoid on front ram pipes) :y
-
Will do , the car runs fine though and only just came on after a run so would make sense that it would be the wire thats worn possibly wearing out on the aux belt causing the fault code . Hopefully i can repair that and job done :y

Knock sensor behind the engine mount. Wire comes up around dipstick, and plugs in cabletray in front of oil filler.

Just done a quick fix for now as i need use of the car , taped up the frayed wire and the EML has gone out . Will repair soon as i get time weekend :y
