plug is down near dipstick. Sensor itself behind engine mount.  Suspect, though, you've forgotten to plug back in.

Plug is connected if im looking at the right one , only one near the dipstick but the connector is free and flopping about ..should it be secured to something ie a post or plate ?

The wire is slightly worn through as it dropped down and was rubbing on the aux belt , think ill be able to get to it if i take the battery off and top hose . Can it be repaired ie cut and spliced together  :-\

Will have a go , dont fancy tracing the wire back to replace . Looks like it goes through the timing belt cover .

Maybe im looking at the wrong wire .
Where would the position be of the actual sensor for signal circuit 2 ...not the connection .

Is it ok to run the car or not while the light stays on ?

just slowly check through everything mate its so easy to rush and skip something(we've all done that) :y its also easy to cross plugs on ks and cam sensor-done that too (crossed air temp and solenoid on front ram pipes) :y

Will do , the car runs fine though and only just came on after a run so would make sense that it would be the wire thats worn possibly wearing out on the aux belt causing the fault code . Hopefully i can repair that and job done  :y

Knock sensor behind the engine mount. Wire comes up around dipstick, and plugs in cabletray in front of oil filler.
