Title: Annular eclipse 2012
Post by: Entwood on 20 May 2012, 23:02:46
If anyone is interested this amazing event is "on" on the other side of the world right now ... difficult to find a web feed that is working .. but this one looks like it might work ... about 30 minutes until the action starts .. hopefully as the team is on top of the mountain the clouds might not be there ..

two guys talking on the phone in the snow so far. now a rainy screen.

edit, so these guys are using solar power to film an event, which is the sun disappearing.

I saw a total eclipse of the sun in Zambia about 10 years ago.  It happened about mid afternoon on a cloudless hot sunny day, and as the sun was slowly covered you could feel the temperature dropping and the nightime insects started up it was very eery!! As the sun reappeared the birds started singing as at dawn!!  An amazing experience!!  8) 8) 8)
