Title: Manual gear knob removal.
Post by: Manual Elite V6 on 05 June 2012, 13:33:25
Can someone tell me if the manual gearknob just twists off to remove or is there some other way? only asking as mine is looking a bit worn and would like to replace it.

Thanks.

Alternatively...
Disconnect prop shaft from rear of gearbox (for easier access, might not be absolutely necessary), undo clamp on selector lever, undo 4no 6mm bolts & various bits of trim inside the car and the lever will come right out.

Probably about ten years since I took the gearbox out of my last car so the details are a bit hazy..........

??? just trying to be helpful.........
I took my gearbox out to change the slave cylinder. While disconnecting the gear linkage I discovered how to take the lever out.

The gaiter was worn through & I intended to fit a new one but never got a round tuit  :P
