Well thats me sorted.  Had a chat with Admiral, added the 3rd Omega, got a nice deal from them.  Made a few more phone calls and promply fell asleep till 5.30 (when I was due to pick the car up at 3)

Did all the tranfer went through all the documents (had allready paid for the car the night before (Allthough I bought it with out a test drive or going to see it) I had known the owner for years and the car from the day he had bought it.) got a phone call from her indoors saying she was about to finish work, so finished off our chat and the transfer, and promptly found out there was a majour problem. . . . . . the firking radio/CD unit was dead (how can anyone possibly drive without music?  :'(

Took it home, checked the fuses, looked ok, but took the radio fuse out and refitted it, all was sorted apart from the safe code reset, all done and cheffed to buttons with the car.

Runs like a dream, and allthough it's only a 2.2 I have not felt the need to push it or even use the kickdown, very happy with it indeed.

CCR2006 by any chance? Mine throws its' toys out of its' pram every so often and needs the fuse pulled to reset it.

Actually, it needs the fuse pulled to make it switch off sometimes. >:(

Just had a look at ebay and at £2k a pop for whats on offer for a 2001 model Elite I aint bovvered.

But will keep looking for that low mileage 2003 Elite 3.2 to appear.

I am also fancying 4x4 though, so a diesel tiptronic A6 Quatro is on the shopping list as a second option.

Only a 2005, sounds ok for what it is, but when trying all four speaers by putting all the sound to each one with the balance and fade it sounds like the drivers rear and then front are weaker than the passenger sieds one.  Is this a problem with the speakers or are the sound/balance/fade set up quieter because of the driver position ?

I've had the same "anomoly" from quite a few cars, swap position to the front passenger seat and you'll notice the drivers side then seems a tad louder.
The above of course assumes that you are using the same signal source (set at exactly the same volume) to test all 4 speakers.

Wish I was Opti, had been trying to buy a second TV since jan, seen one I wanted, then changed my mind as they put the price up by 38%, then our lass kept biting away at the balance, finaly was looking round for the TV and realised it was MOT time on the Elite.

Had to have a new coil pack before it went, also had a water leak and a few other jobs, just waved goodbye to £370 for all that, had 4 new tyres last week, then go offered the 2.2 that was an instant decision, bought without seeing or test driving over the phone (bank transfer, paid for it with in 30 mins of offering to buy it)  then came the insurance.

Now I need to skrimp and save for the springs to pas the MOT, ah well, the joy of motoring.  ::)
