Should there be a dash light on the Omega to tell you when Cruise is active?

Nope
-
Unfortunately not... Something I think that Vauxhall overlooked ;)
-
I have a 2.2 that's been written of and I bought it back, it had cruise control but there wasn't a dash light to say it was on, is yours playing up?
-
Thank you all - I was just missing the light. THe Vectra has one and I don't know why, but just nice to see it on and know it is engaged.

Think a dash light would bug me, especially at night.

You wouldn't even notice it once you got used to it ;)

Yeah, I certainly wouldn't. Especially if it's next to the "always-on" emissions light. I wish the rather bulb would blow. ;D
-
Why do you want a 'cruise is on light'? Surely, if you're doing a constant xx mph and you're foot isn't on the throttle, then you've pressed the cruise button! ???
If Vauxhall missed a trick by not fitting a light, then Mercedes did too ....... no light in my Merc either. ;)
-
I think only because I have the Vectra first which does have one. As you say I know when I have pressed the button :-)

Swap yours for mine Kevin :y it blew a couple of months ago ::) :-X

Later Vauxhall designs have an indicator (which is not distracting tunnie :y), but earlier designs like Omega lack it.
-
I have to say the on later designs like the Vectra the CC is generally much better - it seems to control much more smoothly even when driving around town at 30. It's is 8 years newer though so I guess some improvement is to be expected!
Just driven the Omega back from Portsmouth and switched cruise off in the end as it was continually up and down between 3rd and 4th.

Should've bought a V6 ;) ;) ;) It's rare that my car comes out of top when cruise is doing its thing (obviously when not towing)
-
Cruise control on a manual carlton was the best ...i miss the old girl :(
-
Maybe, I guess the V6 has that bit more torque....
The problem with the cruise seems to be the speed with which it changes the throttle - it's almost like the auto box see's the sudden increase as a request for kick down. With the mark 1 foot and a gentle squeeze it will climb the hills, keeping the speed up and staying in top gear.

Agreed. But the Omega's cruise resume is gentle compared with the Senator ;) :y :y

Thats because the Senator's had to get there quickly before the cruise module failed. Again.

Does it work? Could be worth a fortune. Briefly. Until it fails :P

Not sure whether or not it does. It was 2nd hand & bought to fit to my Senator - but never made it before the car was stupidly sold. ::)
