Hi all!
I'm new to this forum, but so far, I found a lot of really helpful topics. I own an Omega B MV6 3.0 made in 1994. As almost every Omega owner, I have rocker cover problem. Now, I do know how to change it and what's important, but I'm looking for a trustworthy dealer, which would post to Lithuania. I did a search and found one, that does send parts to my country and the price looks OK, but I don't know if it can be trusted and will supply me with genuine parts - www.vauxhall-car-parts.co.uk/
Is it trustworthy? Maybe there is a better place to buy genuine parts? I searched through my local dealers, but some of them offers same parts with higher prices than this dealer.
Thanks in advance :)

Remember to clean the engine breathers or you will be replacing the gaskets again soon.
There is a "How to" in the maintenance guide section.

Dead easy to get if not, if it was me I'd much rather call to go over parts I need & pay, lot more secure than e-mail :)
But if AndyB wants to send his credit card details over an e-mail, go right ahead :y

Use silicon RTV, I just did it on mine.
I wouldn't pay $42 for valve cover gaskets. This is enough for 3-5 engines:

Удачи!

I've never heard of anyone using RTV on the cam covers for the Omega. Not saying that you haven't used it with success but using the genuine gaskets with the correct black sealant (just for the 90o angles) should see you only doing this job once....assuming you keep your breathers clean.

Actually, I have one of those red silicone tubes. My brother changed his cam covers on Audi A6 2.5 V6. On those cars there are no gaskets, you only put this sealant instead of it. Maybe it's also OK to use it here?

No, for the GM V6, you need to use the gasket.
Because if you have blocked breathers, you want that gasket to blow. Otherwise the pressure is just transferred elsewhere, such as the crank seal.

Any silicone that falls off and it will end up blocking and starving the oil pump ending in tears :'( :'(

I probably didn't write clearly what I thought ^^ What I meant was, maybe it's okay to use that red sealant instead of the GM black sealant?

depends whether it sets hard. The GM black stuff stays pliable/flexible, whereas some other sealants set pot hard

Ok, thanks everyone for welcoming and, of course, helping me! Now I just need to contact Andyc. Have a nice new year celebration! ;)

You don't need to apply any sealant on the cover or gasket, head only. Around the half moons front & rear, as per our guide :)
