Hi all
Decided to get a porch awning for the winter months....pays to shop around. Got this 2013 Dorema Quattro from Jeff Bowen Awnings on the web, delivered free and £44 cheaper than any of the local stockists. Ordered last monday, delivered here on Wednesday.

I know this will amuse a few, but was in reception half hour ago, talking about risk assesment and H & S. When I came out, I looked the wrong way, and fell arris over head into a big flower tub.
Swmbo wet herself....just hope they never saw in reception :(

It was caught on CCTV apparrantly and is just about to earn Wareham reception £250 on You've Been Framed. ;) ;D
Nice awning and van Tony. Enjoy your break. :y

Hi looks good, same van as we bought last year, was going to tow it with the 2.2 & then realised it was not a good match so bought a Hyundai Terracan to tow with.We have recently bought a porch awning as well , not going to be used until March though.
-
A porch awning and a gold omega. You are a very, very sad man.

The guru's on here said my 2.5ltr Estate would not tow it, so I reckon the 2.2 would have broken in half ;D ;D ;D. Not sure if my 2.6 Estate would tow it either :(

That's just the sort of remark a 'Queen' would come out with, luvvy ;D
-
I reckon a V6 would tow it , but legally weightwise would be a no no, we were in Yorkshire last year & on some of the hills even the Terracan had to be put into 2nd gear , so without doubt it would have killed the 2.2 auto.
-
Yes, it is a no, no weightwise, and as was pointed out at the time...once you get going, at some point you have to stop !!!!!!! ;D :y
-
Nice van and bargain awning by the looks of it :y

Ok Mike.....have another laugh
Me and swmbo decided to go out for a meal tonight to somewhere a bit above the normal crap. Had a lovelly steak, etc. All went well, till swmbo decided she could not finish her pint of cider. So I reached over for it....I forgot the candle, and all the hairs on my arm caught fire. Geez, did it stink. My arm is now like Yul Brynners head. :(
Thinking back....I think all my troubles started after my brother shot me with a crossbow when I was twelve. Had seven weeks in hospital with that one. Its all gone downhill since :(

From what I have heard about Land Rovers , they spend quite a lot of time being towed anyway!!

Could always check matching capabilities via this site...http://www.towcar.info/basic_index.php (http://www.towcar.info/basic_index.php)

We had a long twin axel 6 birth tourer some years ago, before we bought the 'Static' think it was a 6.20... :-\ :-\ but I had a tow bar fitted to our 2.0L Manual Mig, the weights must have matched though...... :) :)
-
Yes...this is a weighty old caravan, Mike. Twin axle....but I think Elddis vans are generally heavier than your average :y
Comes out heavier kerbweight than the Omega
Especially now as its weighted down with burgers and sausages and drinks ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

It's worth shopping around, I got an Isabella awning from from the Isabella stand at the NEC a couple of years ago, they were selling off the old models for half price.
-
You are right there....if you wait till near the end of the show, they almost give them away....caravans too. A lot of it is so they don't have to take the stuff away....and also one-upmanship on other dealers on how many items/vans are sold at the show. We got loads of stuff at Earls Court show a few years ago. Good job we had friends with us, was a laugh getting it back via the tube ;D ;D
The friend with us bought one of those small Romahome motorhome things....got it for a stupid price, and the stuff they gave him as part of the bargain was beyond belief. Pity we could not drive it away, it would have solved our transport problems ;D
-
having "lost" a couple of awnings in storms over the last few years,
I now spend £100 ish on the bendy rod ones,
if it gets demolished in a storm, I bin it.

porch awning no good for us . never get all my stuff in it .got a 3mtr wide one for mine :y
-
Believe it or not...that one is 2.75mtr wide by 2.0mtr deep.
We use a full size awning in the better weather, which is a size 16 1025-1050
The porch awning is handy for just me and swmbo during the winter months. :y
