Title: Royal Mail
Post by: albitz on 22 January 2013, 10:45:51
On more than one occasion Ive called them Royal Fail and had a good old moan about their so called service.
Well, not this time.Steve Rubberduck placed a wanted ad at 10.50 am yesterday.I had the part he wanted. He PM,d me about half an hour ago to say it had arrived.
Less than 24 hours from placing the ad he had the part he needed.Cant grumble about that. :)

I rarely - very rarely - have trouble with Royal Mail.  Its only if I post to my Mum. If I do, its always now Special Delivery, else I can guarantee it won't make it. I have tried the cheaper Signed For, but it always arrives late.

So I realise it can be hit and miss.

Same here. It's a bit fashionable to kick the Mail, but I've never had any problems. I run a small company, and we're an old fashioned outfit that still send invoices by post. Costs money ? Yes of course, but we always get paid, invoices don't "get lost" by customers.

Some companies are just fashionable to gripe at. RM, Microsoft, BT, Sky etc etc. They don't usually deserve all the blame they get...

I judge as I find.I have had variable service from them in the past.Shockingly bad on ocassions, pretty good on others, but in this instance they excelled themselves imo, which was why I thought it was worth mentioning.

I worked at the sorting office over Christmas and you wouldn't believe what happens to your parcels, especially if you've marked then as fragile or do not bend and god help you if you've bought something off Amazon or sent it via TNT or Citipost ::)

Her Kindle came from amazon, obviously. Bloody great dent In the side of the box. Like it was slammed on its edge on the side of a bin.

Tell him he needs to exert some energy and hit it harder to get to the actual product. ::)

Which Christmas Pete? Our postie reckons amazon came down hard on the PO a while back, threatening to introduce penalties for damage/late delivery.
Personally, I have never received anything late or damaged from amazon, and I must have had hundreds of items.

Mrs. KW's Kindle had to go back under warranty. Courier came to collect it. Never got delivered to Amazon. Luckily she got a collection receipt, and I de-registered it from her account first, as I bet it went straight on Ebay. >:(

The one just gone Steve. There's a competition to see who can bag (5ft cage) the Amazon parcel from the furthest away ::)
