As the other thread for 97...
If you have tyres with a 95 load rating please give us a review. With the specific emphasis on the presence of tram lining/wander lust/lack of directional stability in a straight line.
In other words, does the car drive straight with them fitted...? And if you have XL (Extra Load) please mention this too.
Along with the make model and size.
Thankyou in advance.

Thames Valley standard CD 16" fitment was...
Goodyear Excellence 225/55 ZR 16 95W.
Not Extra Load, near as I can tell, but the Z speed rating implies a tougher construction :-\
Not a very durable tyre, 8-9k of hard use, grip/behaviour ok iirc, but not driven a car with them fitted since 2009 :-\

bought it for many people , stable and predictable tyre.. not top of the class but works good..

Obviously a 95 load rating is in relation to vehicle weight. Therefor the relevant weight needs to be the same as omega. Hence, we are only concerned with 95 load ratings fitted to the omega. :)

And either nobody has 95 load tyres or we're all board of the subject. Perhaps not suprisingly.
Shall we just call it 95 load or below. So 94 93 and 92 as well. Including XL.
Or we'll be here all year. ;D

'03 2.5 V6 Estate - Goodyear EfficientGrip 225/55 R16 95W XL, F 34psi R 36psi.
On car when purchased (not new), now done 15K miles, rock steady (hands off wheel steady), very good dry, ok to good wet & snow, progressive break away, normally priced as mid range.

Can I ask about the pressures? Afaik that's slightly above standard? (Appreciate that's the second post on different relevant threads but only just noticed the psi. )

...yes had enough too. But if we're to get to the bottom of it we need to carry on just a fraction longer. :)
Currently working on the idea, that all of the stability problems we've seen on omega tyres have been on the lower load ratings.
So, IF this is the case, it might be prudent to suggest that a load of 95 or 97 and above,(96 seem rare for some reason) would most likely see less instances of directional stability problems, and therefor save members money and give a more stable safer car. ..."IF" !
Looking at Falkens sizes on their web site, they no longer list 92 load tyres in the sizes that fit omega. 93 and 94 are listed. The only 97 is on 18" 265/35. Iirc.
We know 92 is too low anyway, as VX recomend 93 and above apparently. Tuere are two 92 load Falkens just fome off omegas that i know of, my mv6 in 17" and Tunnies 2.2 in 16". There are obviously exceptions, like sc3 mo 245/40/18 are a 93 load and are very stable. But we are looking to achieve a better average performance, or, raise the peak operating window so we are less likely to catch the odd rogue manufacturers tyre that plays up and tram lines/wanders.
While its dull stuff, it is useful and helpful to get this nailed down. Apart from anything else, we can enjoy the airfield meet more if it happens, instead if pishing about with tests.
Apologies. But can we bare with it a little while longer....? :)

Yes, going by the psi table here it implies 30f 33r. Just wondering if you feel that tyre benefits from a few more psi. Which might imply that particular tyre would benefit from a slightly higher load rating for this cars weight...? :) if you see what I mean?
Or if the car is partially loaded most of the time. Maybe?

Sport Maxx TT 235/45/17 94Y - most stable tyre I've ever known on an Omega. Pressures made no difference to straight line stability, even when one was down to 24psi :-[
Sport Maxx RT 235/45/17 95Y XL - "OK" to "Good" on straight line stability, improved by knocking down to 29PSI.
SC5 235/40/18 95XL XL - errr, lets not go there ;D
-
No idea on size or rating, but those shagged, worn P6000s I swiped off you gayboy, 225/45/17 92??. Whatever they are. Straight as an arrow on the front of TBE, @32psi. Rears, SC5 235/40/18 Y95 XL @ 29psi

Opps, sounds like I'm ungreatful :-[. Quite the opposite. Got me out of a "hole" ;)

The RT felt for all the world like they needed a few more psi to me. But if it works...

Hankook Kinergy Eco 205/65R15 94V all-round on OE alloys:
Satisfactory all-round performance with no issues ... a sound choice IMO for a car that modestly clocks-up around 6k miles annually. Mrs Seth accrues most of those miles ... and she most certainly doesn't drive like Miss Daisy ... believe me! :o
Oh, nearly forgot: 32 psi all-round, Poly-bushed wishbones and WIM set-up. ;)
