If they're well packed there's no reason why they wouldn't arrive intact anymore than anywhere else.  ;)

Parts are so much more expensive in most other countries that they are getting a bargain, even including delivery charges. :y

It always surprises me how UK sellers limit their sales with "collection only", buyer arranges courier, UK only.

When I lived in the UK I sold lots of stuff all around the world including an antique oil can to Australia.

Now I live abroad , I find it really infuriating that most stuff is UK only.!! It is stiull cheaper to but online and pay the postage.

I will pretty much send anything anywhere, but sending an engine (and possibly gearbox) to Germany might be a bit of a challenge.
Need to build a crate or similar to send it in. Also have no facilities here to lift it,so courier would need to have a pallet truck or similar to put it in their van. Not impossible by any means, but a fair bit of aggro.

Agreed. Aren't there any "crate" equivalents to pallets? Presumably if you have to make one or acquire one that gets included in P and P! Having seen the price of salvage parts in Spain it can be nearly as cheap to buy a car and drive it over for something like an engine........

You need to find a company that does groupage, the likes of dhl,ups etc charge a fortune, i think you need to google "deliver my parcel" or "interparcel" biggest problem with large items is customs.

If its within the EU,c ustoms shouldn't be a problem (in theory at least). Outside  the EU though,it can be in the lap of the gods.
I sent Cem a diff about 2 years ago,and it got as far as customs at Instanbul As far as we know, its still there. They wouldn't allow him to take delivery of it. :'(

I took a starter motor for a Mercedes 1820 truck to Kenya in my hand baggage a few years ago.  ::)

I'm not sure what it weighed but I had to make an effort at check in not to lean with the weight of the thing or wince as the strap dug into my shoulder!  ;D

Couldn't be arsed with the hassle anyhow and they are delicate enough not to post to the next town, whats the deal though? pays then claims they never arrived or arrive damaged?
Title: Re: Parts to Egypt

Possibly. :-\
I have posted them within the UK in the past, but it was on the understanding that each one would be in a large box,so plenty of bubble wrap etc. to protect it,and therefore the cost of postage was high - around £20 for the pair iirc.

If I were you I wouldn't worry but ask him to read terms and conditions again and would emphasize that after posting you won't have any responsibility at all.  :y

Just remembered that on another trip to Kenya I had a pair of truck shock absorbers in my checked in bag and not much else but a toothbrush and a t-shirt! My hand baggage was stuffed full of everything else to keep within the weight limit on my checked in bag!  :)

This was all pre 9/11 and the stringent security checks that we enjoy today!  ;)
