Its like many remade films - if you saw the original first, generally you will think the remake is a poor immitation, if you saw the remake first, you'll think the original has dated bad. Similar to if you read a book before seeing the film based on it.
I think, in this case, the original held better tension, but in the remake, Travolta does make a really good, believable hard ass, and singlehanded carries the film.

Now you are talking Chris. :y :y :y :y :y
I have two compilation CD's of theirs that I play constantly in my car at full volume. 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)
The Beatles were my ideal group in the 60s onwards; Led Zepp have been the Kings of Hard Rock for me since the 70s! :D :D :D ;)

Strictly is better TB than one alternative - X Factor! ::) ::) ::)

Nah, equally trash-tv. "Talent" shows should be banned, and the producers shot.
-
If forced to watch trash tv, Strictly probably floats to the top first.
Especially if Alliona is in it. :-X

Who?
Can you tell I don't watch it? I could recognise Bruce F, obviously, and the tart who co-hosts, and probably the judge who always says "seevvveeerrrrrnnnn!" and the woman judge (Arelene?). Beyond that, not got a hope I'm afraid :-[
-
One of the pro female dancers, my personal favourite. She was injured last time.
So let's get this straight...
strictly was on, and you haven't noticed which female dancers are which?
You raging Queen, too busy looking at the poof male dancers obviously. ;D
And they are all poofs. I can't bare to look at them meself.
(Both points of view really winds H up ;D )
-
I can't watch it, it upsets me. Even if it had Leslie Ash (in her prime), I still wouldn't be able to watch it...
(And yes, sad I know, but I always quite fancied Ms Ash, until she really let herself go)

Fixed. :)

Dont agree with you Lizzie about Led Zep. Good group with some damn fine music but Plant to up him self. Mettalica, Purple, Sabbath with Ozzie,Doi and Ian Gillan and the " original thrash metal group" Motothead :D they all better. :y
Keith B

No way KiethB, no way ever dude. :D

I also think Zep were greatly over rated tbh Keith. They had the best manager in the business and he built up a lot of mythology around them, and was clever enough to never allow them to be over exposed. I liked Zep 2 and some of Zep 4,but that was about it.
Never liked Plants voice (too girly) and never considered Page worthy of being put in the same category as the the greats (Clapton/Beck/Hendrix etc.). Bonzo would be in the top three great rock drummers though, alongside Baker & Moon imo.
Back in the day,I much preffered Deep Purple, for Gillans Vocals,Blackmores guitar playing, and many great songs which were to my ears more melodic and better constructed than most of the Zep stuff. Couldn't abide Sabbath,Mettalica, Motorhed etc. though ;D Each to their own though. ;)
P.S. As for Queen - don't even get me started. :-X ::) ;D ;D
-
Seems to me that the Beeb are trying to market their kids series like Dr Who as serious drama now.
So progs like Merlin, Torchwood and now Atlantis are also billed the same. As for ITV, it,s sh*t.
Sorry, rant over :-*

I also tend to take things on face value, rather than suffer what's said around a subject. I like what they do, and take little notice of what's said as a result.
So there's little credit any discussion after that. ;)

Dear oh dear. Just seen the contestants.
Do they all have to look like a sack of spuds? Vanessa Felps? Jeez

The mistake Ms Ash made was getting her lips pumped a second time... She contracted MRSA from the jab, and now often needs a cane to walk :'( a very pleasant person in the flesh :y

She let herself go long before that :'(
I always imagined she would be a nice lass, despite her fame. Never had the pleasure of ever meeting her though.

A waste of tape. Saturday evening TV for me has been a load of tripe since Bruce Forsyth was on it the first time round (long before they exhumed him to present strictly). ;D
And yes, much rather listen to Led Zep. Or Queen, for that matter.

They used to have films and (proper) dramas on, rather than wall to wall dull quiz/reality/"talent" 'dangle berries'.

You could always watch the Mama Mia DVD, and have a sing-a-long together ::)

Nothing to snigger about, the poor bloke's trying to find something they can both enjoy on a Saturday evening.
Just trying to offer a constructive suggestion, that's all :y

Nope, not an age thing, its all down to the pub chains. They bribe the TV companies to show crap so that everyone pisses off out to the pub instead ;)

At last ! Something on pay TV that almost makes me wish I had it . . Only "Almost" ::)

Just kinda wondering if that shoud be rule-d (past tense) ;D
I recall as a spotty youngster seeing "Robert Plant and The Band Of Joy" in my local dance hall, sometime before Zeppelin were invented. I think they were actually ok.

The answer to your original question is too bloody many.
