Apparently the VXR8 is the 9th most expensive new car to maintain over 3years/36k in the UK :o

That's three oil changes, 6 sets of tyres, a set of brake pads, and possibly a brake fluid change. There's nothing else on it to do apart from drive it :-\
Oh, and fuel it ::)
Certainly the engine couldn't be any simpler, and I doubt the supercharger on the new one actually requires significant extra attention...

Don't those figures include the depreciation? Which is the real expense for a lot of expensive cars for the first 3 or 4 years.
Actually, that's true of most cars, not just expensive ones.

Nope just scheduled maintenance for the first 3 years and 36k, ninth cheapest came in at £670 ish, against £3.5k for the VXR8 :-\
It doesn't add up, as actually that's 3 oil/filter changes and possibly a brake fluid change :-\ whereas the cheapest cars are diesel and on 20k intervals, so might only require one service...
On that basis £670 for an oil and filter change is a bit naughty ::)

One for Mr Opti I think ::)...
That said, the £7.5k to keep a Nissan GTR serviced is mindblowing :o even at over £100 an hour for main dealer work, that's alot of garage time :-\

There's nothing else on it to do apart from drive it :-\
Don't know about VX, but Nissan have things in the GT-R service schedule such as "optimisation".....which basically translates to the car goes back every so often (at least twice a year) to be set up again like it is brand new.

That sounds like the modern version of checking the valve clearances ::) if it were built properly, surely it shouldn't need to have a six monthly check up :-\

Tyres would be pretty short lived I would have thought? Esp the rears. Minimum 350bhp with an LSD
20" wheels ?
245 30 fronts, 275 30 rear on the new gts. Got to be over a grand a set. Even looking at mid range tyres.

If memory serves we are talking about a car where (for the early models at least) they changed the gearbox as a precaution at every clutch change...
