Just got my dual fuel bill for the last quarter, £485! The majority, £350 is for gas.
I do like to be nice and warm whilst watching Bargain Hunt. ::)

Surely you can recycle and sell some gas back to them. ;D

The Opti family has to sit in the cold.
Times are hard south of Wakefield. :'( :'(

Nope.....just a paltry DVD player.
Which only works when the car is stationary. :)... As soon as I start to drive the picture goes.

The trip computer is showing 20.6 MPG over the last 560 miles. So no, I can't afford to drive it. ;D
It is quick though..... :o :o ;)

It pulls 36 MPH for each thousand revs in top (7th)........ So has the potential to be reasonably frugal.
I'm aware that many on here will disagree, but it feels a whole lot faster than any Omega I've driven, including my 3.2 plod estate that went like shit off a shovel. :y

Blimey......even i dont get a gas bill that big.....my old 30+ year boiler which is apparently only 60% efficient doesnt use that much gas...
Maybe you need a new boiler Steve :-\.....im awaiting when the plumber can come and fit my new supposedly 97% efficient boiler :y

:o :o ??? with the current gbp rate 485 * 3.8 =1843 TL opps.. my monthly is around 250 tl ;D
STMO you either move to a hotter climate or do some insulation :-\

No gas where we are but we pay £49 a month by direct debit for the electricity.
We also have to buy about 2000 litres of heating oil each year......roughly £1100. Additional to this we use some six or seven 47 KG propane bottles for the fire. These cost £52 each, this year. :'( :'(
So in the ballpark of £2200 each year. :-\

Although this quarters bill was very high, my annual bill is around £1300, still high, but near average I think.
I had wife and son off over Christmas, and they hammer everything.

My landlord wanted to install a brand new boiler last year, but I couldn't be arsed with the hassle. ::)

Don't get a Ferroli TD, the damn things are cheap for a reason! :(
I have an 8 year old Ferroli condensing boiler which has had loads go wrong with it and I've been fitting some new o rings in it today to fix some water leaks, only to discover that the main heat exchanger has a leak as well. :'(
A new heat exchanger retails at around £350 :o so I'm hoping my friendly plumber can fix it!! ::)

Just asked swmbo and we cannot be certain but I think we were only paying £47 a bottle for our caravan (Static) last year........ :-\ :-\

Does that work out cheaper that Auto LPG then? I remember driving fork lifts with a gas bottle fueling them, so presumably you could use a propane cylinder or even butane...... :-\ :-\

but don't get caught doing it ... Propane in bottles does not have the "Road Duty of 31p/kg" on it ... so is technically illegal to use in a car .. though just how they would prove it is beyond me ..... a tad tricky to put a red dye in it methinks !!! :)

Yes, indeed. Was just an idle thought. :y
Not sure it'd be worth the hassle/risk, and I think it would be a tad suspicious for a house with mains gas to be getting through one of those a week. ;)

Fork lift gas bottles are totally different to "normal" ones, as they have a liquid gas takeoff, normal bottles have a gaseous take off ... :)
Small bottles are horrendously expensive, ok a 47 Kg for £60 is 64 p/litre .. I pay 72p/litre autogas .. but a 13 kg is £27 .. £1.04 a litre !!!! and the 6Kg ones are a rip-off .. £21 is £1.75 a litre !!!
So unless you can pick up 47 kg and dump it in the boot ..... :)

I've often wondered about houses that have lpg gas heating with the big green lpg tank out the back, and the feasibility of 'T-ing off' that tank to an lpg pump for the car. :-\

Problem is, you need to take off liquid at high pressure and pump it into the car, rather than vapour at low pressure, so it needs to be from a different point on the tank. I'd say it'd be a challenge to do it without anyone noticing when it's time to fill the tank.
You can also add a fill point legitimately, but then it has to be god knows how many metres from the nearest building and you have to make a declaration and pay road fuel duty on whatever has gone in the car, at which point it becomes about the same price as at the garage (if not a lot more).
