Utter load of pathetic rubbish if you ask me. Yet another example of people with a non-British background causing problems over tedious things.

If it's a racist term, it's one I've never heard, so all the silly little cow has done is teach me a new word. Why doesn't she just fick off back where she came from?
OOOOOO......is that racist? Sorry.
-
BBC on the slippery slope. ;D
-
Never heard of that term before, and I suspect 99% of British folk haven't either. :-\
-
What a load of 'dangle berries'
-
Nothing more than an opportunistic attempt to cash in on the UK's compensation culture! >:(
Damn, why didn't I think of it first!! ::)
-
I asked the wife (half Japanese) if she knew of the term.......she replied No :-\

Did you then slope off back to the kitchen. :-X
-
Did Clarkson even know of its alternative meaning? It seems not many people do.
But remember what we used to say as kids - "sticks and stones may break my bones, but names will never hurt me"?
Once again, gold-digging on the part of the not really offended......
Ron.

I can't image he didn't know the of the term, else otherwise why would they have included it in the prog? I can't say that I've ever heard of the term myself though :-\ :-\
-
what a load of c++k---what about all of us suing for his slagging of Vauxhalls----ooh thats a thought :-\ ;D ;D :D
-
What a load of shite, slippery slope , oops sorry !

There was a slope on the bridge, ie the roadway had one side higher than the other, tis all a load of old cobblers, big fuss about nothing........... ::) ::)
-
Accident, injury, discrimination, breach of your 'umen rights or any other slight or implied slight, there is always a 'nonces are us' solicitors, look to make a big profit on no win no fee basis and you might even get a bob or two out of it as well. This country has been on this slippery slope for 20 years and it is getting worse. :( :( :( :(
Then you have got the 'professional victims' who look to get 10 minutes of fame from their mock outrage and a bob or two as well. :( :( :( :(
-
Well we are really doomed ... Not a single person in the whole world is allowed to park on a "slope" anymore ... A) It might complain and B) It's possibly now a criminal act ::)
This article made me laugh loads :D If the BBC consider paying all that money in compensation to a crazy woman that "thinks" she is a "slope" then god help us all ... Next she will be telling the world that she's a "wheelie bin" and taking legal action against the worlds local authorities :o Whatever next I ask ???
-
Never heard of the term before myself. Plus, why is there money involved in it?

Yep and even if JC's comment was meant to be derogatory Hamster said straight away"yes it is lower on that side" so don't know what all the fuss is about :y
-
I've not heard the term either, but they knew exactly what they were doing with the 'There's a slope on it !'...'Yes, it's definitely higher on one side !' routine, and its blown up in their face.
The whole series shows desperation for laughs/interest. It speaks volumes that they've got so desperate, they're now trying cheap shots that don't even register with most viewers anyway.
Drop the 'Adventures of the Fun Boy Three' approach. Most of the mishaps are so predictable, it's cringe worthy.

If 90% of the population / viewers were unaware of the "connotation" of the comment .. what were they achieving ?? some private joke ?? .... a desperate joke/cheap shot only works if the target audience hear it and react ... so the point .. if they were actually trying to make one .. becomes pointless

barely noticed the slant[1] on the bridge, TBH
god help us when the aliens arrive, and we get sued cos "green" means being sick.
[1] which I'm told *IS* a racist term :-X
