Title: Focus 1.4 Timing belt
Post by: Shackeng on 18 April 2014, 12:39:01
Son has just bought a '52 plate for £390 with 104K, and I suspect it has never had the belt done. Any particular problems with doing the belt? Also am I correct that it will be OBD11?

Cambelt is easy, just need cam looking kit and crank locking pin, gates kits are ford oe,need cam cover gasket aswell, might be worth changing water pump at same time.

lol easy if the crankbolt comes out ok!! last one i did had to go and borrow a truck airgun with 3/4 drive, disconnect the safty on the compressor wind it right up, then let it fly, it just moved it! this was after spending couple hours failing with a breaker bar, then with a halfinch windy gun!
