Australian modification rules and inspections are much stricter than ours.
That 'Carlton'? looks seriously menacing.

But we cant have things coming out the bonnet restricting vision though

About 25yrs or so ago there was a Rover SD1 running about in Mexborough[South Yorkshire]with a similar set up on it.The rear tyres were so wide that the rear seat had been removed to make way for the inner wheel arch extensions so the outer edge of the tyres stayed within the original body work, the inner arches nearly met in the centre of the car.

What gives you that idea?
I know of several cars with superchargers and/or scoops through the bonnet.

You don't need such large setups these days, supercharger technology has moved on a lot.
The VXR8 I was lucky enough to get a drive of last week (dam dam dam, want one!) which had a mere 580 bhp (680bhp as of this week as its having a new cam, injectors and fuel pump plus remap) with super charger setup, the charger can go over the 100bhp mark and if you want more, you fit two, one for each bank.
That thing was very very very good, super car acceleration, very good handling, 0-60 sub 4 seconds....

Got all the options that I would chose if buying new...

They sound gorgeous, too.. If I had limitless money to endlessly shovel fuel in (and buy it in the first place) :y

;D typical bloke... always putting the catch in brackets, as if it helps ;D
The thing is, for £30k, a nearly new VE Commodore SS Sportwagon could be on the drive :-\
-
For less than 30K you could have a 680bhp VXR8 ;D
-
;D For less than twenty even, easily, but saloon only, too old and not white ::)
Otherwise perfect :y
