It's been a while since I posted up but I thought some of you might be interested in our latest news. We have been appointed Viezu agents in the last month for their award winning remaps. We can do bikes using our equipment subject to us having the suitable OBD cable. I just discussed with Viezu and they said that although the headline figures of 5 BHP and 6 NM of torque don't sound massive, that you'd certainly feel like there was an improvement. Let me know if it's something you'd like to pursue. Our offer price would be the same £175 if the cable is the same.

Any thoughts on pricing for the 3.2 omega?
I guess the 2.6 would be similar cost wise...?
And for the older cable throttle cars there might be interest for the 2.5 and 3.0 as well generally speaking.

Just to add, are the 3.2 remaps any more expensive or involved than any other model or over and above the pricing mentioned? I'm under the impression the 3.2 and 2.6 are somehow more involved than normal, going by discussions here previously. :-\

On the GS forum, the 'Hilltop Motorcycles' remap gains are significantly more, I think they specialise in GS's. But most members report a whacking 20% increase in power and torque figures, going from around 80bhp to well over 100. Due to GS's being very lean on fuel from BMW, for emissions reasons.

They do make a difference to most vehicle's, as it allows the fueling to be more precise and use the octane,better. Instead of being a cover all system,which a factory mass produced map is.

Jason, as I'm not in that area do you offer a service where owners can be sent the chip and fit themselves. . . I'm sure there is a guide on here.
Really keen to try a chip although not expecting it to change the world. :y

Yet to encounter a factory map that couldn't be improved. But yet to find a petrol owner that feels it's worth the money, so far....especially on a standard set up.
But in conjunction with a lower geared dif, it might e more noticeable. But I'd like to see for myself more than anything tbh.

sorry for the delay in responding. It was a busy old day and I didn't get a moment to investigate. I will contact Viezu tomorrow to find the possible outcomes for each model. As Chris rightly mentioned most car makers make the model suitable for use in many markets around the world and the result is a one size fits all map. As such any factory map can be improved. On turbo diesel cars you'll notice the most benefit, then a turbo petrol followed by a normally aspirated petrol car. I will find out the likely results tomorrow and get some information posted up.

I did think it was a bit low and will investigate. I am going to Italy in July to learn to write the files myself at Alientech so things could be very different then. I will look at the post you linked to and give you a shout back.

so I can't see any reason why they should be any more money to be honest. We've done quite a few so far and there have been no issues doing cars over OBD. On the whole the only difficulties I have encountered have been on cars after 2010 where the ECU has to be removed and opened. A software patch has to be applied to overcome the car maker's anti tune protection. The car can then have remaps over OBD from then on. I will check this out and give you a shout.

Just for info, the early Omega's (Non ODB, 2.0, 2.5, 3.0 and 2.5TD), the Maps are on an Eprom, so that will be a swopout job, unless you have an plug in emulator that can talk live to the ECU, the later ones, post 2001 ODB, 2.2, 2.6, 3.2, and 2.2DTi and 2.5DTi, are via the ODB port, or worst case by tapping into the ECU, I know when my Chip Man was playing with one of my 3.2's for Petrol/LPG Mapping he had issues communicating via the Comm Port and ended up having to modify one of his Push Pin adaptors to fit directly on the ECU pcb.

Remember, the only way to tune the 2.5/3.0 is to remove the old Eprom and either erase it and blow new code or fit a replacement with ne code already on it. No ability to program via diag port or using a header on the chip. :y

I have a feeling I tried a 3.0l chip in a 2.5 and it didn't run well.

I have a feeling I tried a 3.0l chip in a 2.5 and it didn't run well.
From memory they run a bit rich above 2.5k RPM and can through the EML on, fairly sure my ECU Man got it sorted for the 2.5 Petrol, can ask the question if you want.
